Meet Kindred

Our Story

Erin Light and Melinda Kelleher worked together for nearly a decade in capacity development alongside Indigenous communities and non-profit organizations. Recognizing a deep, instinctual alignment in purpose, approach, and values, they founded Kindred to unite a diverse community of professionals in service of those doing the important heart-work for our communities.

As a collective model, we draw on a wide network of values-aligned professionals—spanning fields from social work, child and youth care (CYC), and mental health, to governance, Human Resources, IT,  and finance—to collaborate and tailor meaningful support for your team.

Our Values & Commitment

The way we work is inseparable from what we value.

Our commitments shape our decisions,  how we build relationships, and how we work alongside others.

  • Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (REDI): We actively work to challenge and dismantle colonial, racist, and oppressive frameworks to cultivate culturally safer environments.

  • Authenticity & Vulnerability: We create shared spaces where practitioners and leaders can think, create, connect, and engage with honesty, vulnerability, and care.

  • Feminist Principles: We focus on strengths, possibilities, and collective capacity, supporting organizations to build resilience and create meaningful change from within.
