Projects & Practice Coordinator
-
We are a collective of values-aligned, relational practitioners who work alongside community organizations, social sector leaders, and grassroots initiatives. Our work includes community engagement, research, strategic planning, training, and organizational development.
We believe meaningful change happens through relationships. We bring curiosity, care, and a strengths-based approach to our work, recognizing the knowledge, experiences, and wisdom that already exist within communities and organizations.
We are continuously learning and growing in our efforts to work in ways that are trauma-informed, restorative, anti-colonial, anti-racist, and grounded in the principles of Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
We show up with authenticity, humility, and curiosity. We value honest conversations, shared learning, vulnerability, and accountability. We believe in creating spaces where people feel safe to contribute, challenge ideas, learn together, and grow.
We believe that lasting change happens in relationship.
Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion
We actively work to challenge and disrupt colonial, racist, and oppressive frameworks to cultivate culturally safer environments.
Authenticity & Vulnerability
We create shared spaces where practitioners and leaders can think, create, connect, and engage with honesty, vulnerability, and care.
Feminist Principles
We reject exploitative top-down hierarchies in favour of shared power, relational accountability, and mutual care. We center intersectional perspectives, honour lived experience alongside technical skill, and ensure that those affected by decisions have a voice in shaping them.
As our collective expands its work and its impact, we are looking for someone to join our small (but mighty) Kindred community - someone who can grow alongside us, and help keep our work grounded, organized, and meaningful.
About the Role
We're looking for someone who enjoys bringing people, ideas, projects, and details together.
As our Projects & Practice Coordinator, you will help keep Kindred's day-to-day work and projects moving smoothly.
You’ll support coordination, communication, scheduling, project tracking, and administration, with opportunities to contribute to research, writing, training development, community engagement, and client-facing project work.
This is a part-time role built around trust, flexibility, and accountability. You will have considerable flexibility in deciding when and where your regular hours are worked, provided client commitments, collaborative needs, deadlines, and agreed deliverables are met.
Because Kindred is a small and growing practice, there will be opportunities to learn, contribute ideas, participate in different areas of the work, and help shape how our systems and practices develop. We do not expect one person to bring experience in every area. We are looking for someone who shares our values, brings relevant and transferable skills, communicates openly, and approaches new work with curiosity and a willingness to learn.

We believe flexibility, trust, and accountability can coexist. This role provides considerable flexibility in when and where regular hours are worked.
Some meetings, workshops, client commitments, and collaborative activities will require availability at particular times. Outside of those commitments, you will generally have the flexibility to organize your work in the way that best supports your responsibilities and wellbeing.
Vacation pay will be provided at 4% of earnings on each regular pay period, together with applicable statutory vacation time.
Kindred is also open to reasonable additional unpaid time away and flexible scheduling around personal, family, wellness, cultural, and community commitments, provided operational requirements, client commitments and agreed deliverables can continue to be met. Statutory leaves will be provided in accordance with applicable legislation.
-
Depending on Kindred's project needs and your skills, interests, and availability, there may be opportunities to take on additional professional work beyond the regular responsibilities of the position.
This could include facilitation, specialized research, training design or delivery, community engagement, substantive client deliverables, or other professional project contributions.
Participation is optional. The scope, timing, anticipated hours, deliverables, and separate employee rate will be agreed upon before an assignment begins. Additional opportunities will depend on project needs and are not guaranteed.
-
Kindred is committed to fair compensation and sustainable ways of working. We believe flexibility, trust, and accountability can coexist, and we value restorative work practices that recognize people as whole human beings.
The compensation package includes:regular compensation equivalent to approximately $37,300–$42,000 annually, depending on agreed hours (equivalent to a $70,000 full-time salary);
4% vacation pay on each pay period;
statutory vacation time and leave;
significant scheduling and remote-work flexibility;
up to $2,000 in approved technology and workspace support);
$50 per month in remote-work support;
up to $1,000 during the one-year term for eligible wellness expenses; and
opportunities for optional professional project work at a separately agreed employee rate.
What are we looking for?
Values Alignment: You have a deep commitment to trauma-informed practices, feminist and anti-oppressive approaches, and Reconciliation, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI). Being on a learning journey is okay and encouraged–none of us know all there is to know about these things and we are all learning!–but believing in the importance of these things is non-negotiable.
Relational & Organized Mindset: You have exceptional organizational and communication skills, with an ability to manage multiple moving pieces without ever losing sight of people and relationships.
Adaptable Skill Set: You are comfortable with writing, research, summarizing and pulling together briefs or reports, and administrative workflows, and possess an eagerness to learn new skills, try new things, and step outside the box as needed.
Self-Motivation: You are comfortable managing your time and responsibilities while working remotely and independently, take initiative, but also communicate openly, knowing when to ask questions.
Curiosity, Humility, and Self-Reflection: You aren’t afraid to admit you have a lot to learn (we all do!) and you approach work and life with an enthusiasm for learning and for challenging yourself. You approach the unknown with curiosity, not judgement.
A Note on Credentialism: We don’t like it. School is amazing. And so is the school of life. The letters after your name are infinitely less important to us than the motivation, curiosity, humility, and care you bring to the work. The right candidate for this role could come from any educational and/or experience/industry background. If the work we do, the way we operate, and the opportunity itself resonate with you, please apply.
Position Type: Part-time employee, minimum 20 hours per week.
Term: One-year fixed-term position, with the possibility of extension.
Location: Primarily remote within Newfoundland and Labrador, with occasional scheduled meetings, client activities, or project engagements.
Compensation: Approximately $37,300–$42,000 annually, depending on agreed regular weekly hours. Based on a full-time equivalent salary of approximately $70,000.
Additional Opportunities: Optional professional project work may be available at a separately agreed employee rate (more details below).
Technology & Workspace Support: Up to $2,000 (more details below).
Remote-Work Support: $50 per month.
Wellbeing Support: Up to $1,000 during the one-year term.
Vacation: 4% vacation pay paid on each regular pay period, together with applicable statutory vacation time.
